The human brain has a remarkable capacity to learn and adapt. This ability is strongly influenced by many factors, including how active we are - both physically and mentally.
In collaboration with Professors Heidi Johansen-Berg and Kia Nobre we are conducting a series of studies to investigate whether increasing physical and mental activity can improve cognitive health and prevent cognitive decline in healthy older people and in people with mild cognitive impairment.
