Psychopharmacology and Emotion Research Laboratory
The Psychopharmacology and Emotion Research Laboratory (PERL) explores the way in which the brain processes emotional information and how this is influenced by chemical messengers in the brain (neurotransmitters such as serotonin, noradrenaline or dopamine). As well as telling us about normal brain function, this may help us understand the processes which can occur in emotional disorders such as depression and anxiety and how these may be helped by drug treatments which affect neurotransmitter function...To read more go to PERL Research Summary
