Professor Wray is a world-leading scientist whose research focuses on the genetics of psychiatric disorders.
She joins Oxford in June from the University of Queensland in Australia where she holds joint appointments at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience and the Queensland Brain Institute.
Professor Wray is a Clarivate highly cited researcher and plays a key role in the International Psychiatric Genomics Consortium. She is one of three international advisors to JAMA Psychiatry and is on the editorial advisory board of Neuron.
Professor Wray said:
“I am hugely excited to be joining Oxford’s Department of Psychiatry, one of the leading centres for neuroscience in the UK and the world.
“My research is at the interface of statistics, genetics and psychiatric disorders, involving developing and applying new methods to analyse data and using modelling to explain the results.
“I am looking forward to continuing this work at Oxford, with the ultimate goal of developing new preventions and treatments for psychiatric disorders.”
