I am a DPhil student under the supervision of Dr Andrea Reinecke and Dr Elizabeth Tunbridge funded by St John's College, the Clarendon Fund and the Oxford-MRC Doctoral Training Partnership.
In general, I am interested in the interplay between biological processes and neurocognitive mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders. I aim to tackle the questions, what biological and cognitive markers are linked to disorder onset, how these markers are linked to each other and why treatment works for some people but not for others.
Currently, my DPhil research focuses on anxiety, and I am investigating the effects of angiotensin-II antagonists and brain plasticity markers like FGF2 and BDNF on emotional processing using neurocognitive tasks and functional brain imaging.
Prior to the DPhil I completed my BSc in Psychology and MSc in Psychology and Cognitive Neurosciences at Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Germany and graduated in 2018. Further, I worked as a research assistant in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Cambridge.
