Funding for Clinical Research Training Fellowships is now available to support candidates who wish to undertake translational research in Oxford.

These posts are offered in conjunction with Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS) which supports clinical academic training in Oxford. The Fellowships are available for six months to three years and successful candidates should be able to take up post by January 2015 or earlier.
Shorter awards (6-12 months) can be used to derive preliminary data on which to base an application for a substantive doctoral project, supervision can be drawn from across Oxford University departments.
One to three year awards may be used to completely fund, or fund completion of, a doctorate, depending on the candidate’s needs. Candidates for doctoral fellowships should have identified an NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre supervisor (or co-supervisor) and translational project in advance of application (visit this page for an overview of BRC Themes).
Successful candidates who are in a medical training programme will need to seek permission for OOPR prospectively from their Post-graduate Dean.

Who can apply?

Candidates must be medically qualified, should be GMC registered, and have completed a UK Foundation training programme. Applicants should have a strong academic record and some research experience with previous publication of research articles an advantage. A strong commitment to the pursuit of excellence and evidence of the ability to develop a research project is essential.
