The sociodemographic patterns among minority ethnic groups in the UK are changing. The younger, and in some instances British born, minority ethnic population appears to suffer from higher rates of some and lower rates of other psychiatric disorders. The exact patterns vary according to the ethnicity. Some of the data and explanations for these variations are discussed in this article.
