Dr Sally Powis

I work with adults with ASD and LD at Southern Health (where I lead on autism for Oxon, Bucks and Wilts) and across the whole spectrum of ability at Kingwood trust.

I provide assessment and diagnosis, therapeutic intervention for individuals, consultation and advice to staff teams, families and carers around supporting someone with ASD. I also provide training in various aspects of ASD, including assessment and diagnosis to other health professionals.

I have become interested in cross cultural aspects of autism, following my involvement in a Kingwood Trust project to help set up services for people with autism in the Caribbean 2012-13. I am interested in the application of Positive Psychology interventions in autism, and will be undertaking a research study into Mindfulness and people with autism in 2013.
