Mood disorder and Fatigue in chronic physical illnesses

I joined Oxford Health NHS foundation Trust in February 2018 as a consultant liaison psychiatry based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and National Spinal Injury Centre. Previously in Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, visiting research and under graduate tutor, University of Cambridge, department of psychiatry.

Executive Committee member faculty of liaison psychiatry, Royal College of Psychiatrists. Member of the MRCPsych Board of Examiners.

My research interest and PhD are in mood disorder and fatigue in chronic physical illness. I have presented my work locally, nationally and internationally. I have several publications in peer reviewed journals adding novel knowledge to the literature as well as my PhD thesis. My work has always been praised and I obtained several prizes at different disciplines.

I am experienced in the assessment and management of a broad range of psychiatric disorders both  functional and organic with multiple comorbidities. I enjoy working with patients and their carers, carrying out comprehensive assessments, which enables me to optimise medical treatment and care and avoid/reduce admission/placement as much as possible. My knowledge of pharmacological, physical and psychological treatments is good, and I enjoy the challenge of managing complex, behavioural challenges and treatment resistant cases. I ensure that my practice is based on the best evidence.
