Activities/ Interests
Farshad is a consultant psychiatrist, expert witness (Medico-Legal) and a passionate educationist and published researcher. He is the former Chair of the Mental Health Law Steering Group at St Andrews Healthcare and a member of the CASC Panel at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Currently he leads a team of experts delivering a nationally accredited AC Refresher Course . Farshad has done his postgraduate qualification in leadership and teaching in Higher Education (PGDip-LATHE) with the University of Oxford and a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Law with De Montfort University. His special interest is formative and summative assessments in medical education. Farshad and his colleagues created and added the “contextually-apt feedback” concept (also known as The CoRPuS Grid) to current medical education literature. As a medical director, Farshad has led his team in achieving 'Outstanding' rating from CQC and joining an elite club of the 8% of top hospitals in England in 2023.
