Are you interested in how sleep functions and how sleep affects your mood?
We are looking for female participants between the ages of 18 and 35 years to take part in our study called Sleep in Borderline Personality Disorder (SBPD).We require two types of participants: (1) healthy volunteers with no history of a psychological disorder and (2) participants that have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. We are investigating the differences in sleep, heart rate, and mood patterns, between people with borderline personality disorder compared with healthy volunteers.
You would be invited to the Department of Psychiatry (Warneford Hospital) for three study visits in total. During these visits you will complete some questionnaires and computerized tasks and you will be given a selection of wearable and mobile technologies (Fitbit-like devices and phone apps) which measure your sleep and activity throughout your day-to-day life for a period of 4 weeks. After completion participants with borderline personality disorder may in the future be invited to participate in a study investigating the effectiveness of programmes addressing sleep and general well-being.
