We are looking for

Are you 18 – 24 years old and feeling low in mood? In this study, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in up to eight free, beginner-friendly, one-hour salsa dance classes offered by an instructor from the Oxford University Salsa Society and complete online questionnaires pertaining to your mood, feelings, and other demographic factors, as well as online recognition and other tasks at four-time points over the course of the twelve-week study. In addition to the free salsa classes, you will be offered monetary compensation for completing the research questionnaires and tasks. No background knowledge or dance experience is required. You will not be excluded from participating in this research because of a diagnosis of depression, for taking (or having taken) medication for depression; or for currently attending talk therapies or having attended talk therapies in the past. This project has been reviewed by, and received ethics clearance through, a subcommittee of the University of Oxford Central University Research Ethics Committee (Reference: R85689/RE001)

Expenses

Participants will be reimbursed for their time.
