SUPPORTING CARE STAFF TO COMMUNICATE THE DEATH OF A RELATIVE
We have developed a guide and animation to support care staff with the painful task of contacting families by telephone to tell them that a loved one has died from COVID-19. The first guide takes the care staff through this difficult phone call step by step. This includes identifying if the resident had an important relationship with any children. We have created a Step by Step Guide for Families: How to tell Children that Someone has Died that can be emailed to the family to support them to tell children.
