Schizophrenia psychosis

Schizophrenia can be devastating for sufferers and their families.  Understanding of what causes schizophrenia is limited and current treatments are inadequate.  When treated in the community, adherence to treatment remains a problem for many patients and their clinical teams. Research in the Department tackles many aspects of schizophrenia, including understanding its neurobiological basis, improving therapies and assessing the impact of legal measures (including Community Treatment Orders) designed to improve adherence to treatment.
