Elena M. Ribe

Senior Postdoctoral Research Scientist

My research interests focus around understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer´s  disease (AD) pathological events. My experience centres in pre-clinical research: understanding basic mechanisms of disease to early drug discovery. I have generated one of the most informative mouse models of Alzheimer´s disease and neurodegeneration and I have tracked experience in the use of primary neuronal cultures to unravel the molecular mechanisms leading to neurotoxicity and associated pathology in the core of the amyloid pathway. Now at Oxford I´m using both these expertise to start a drug discovery programme covering a more translational approach.
