Liu Shi

Senior Postdoctoral Researcher

I am a senior postdoctoral researcher within the Translational Neuroscience and Dementia Research Group. My research mainly focuses on identifying and validating blood based biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) patients. I am using proteomic, metabolomic and genomic data analysis from AD and healthy population cohorts to develop new biomarkers and understand Alzheimer’s mechanisms by applying integrative and machine learning methodologies. I have expertise in machine learning and biomarker development.

In addition to research, I am enthusiastic about translating fundamental research into reality to ensure people benefit from science. I was an Ideas 2 Impact Fellow at the Oxford Saïd Business School and has participated in Executive MBA courses. Furthermore, I obtained the iCURe grant and acted as the entrepreneurial lead to commercialize a blood test for early diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease.

Prior to joining this team, I completed my PhD entitled "Elaboration of protein microarray for the rapid identification and quantification of breast cancer biomarkers" in Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France).
