MSc project student

I am an MSc in Psychological Research student carrying out my project with the Psychopharmacology and Emotion Research Lab under the supervision of Professor Catherine Harmer and Dr Susannah Murphy

I am investigating the effect of prucalopride, a 5-HT4 agonist currently used to treat chronic constipation, on emotional processing. Animal studies have revealed faster-acting effects of the drug on depression-related behaviours relative to SSRIs. We are therefore interested in whether prucalopride also exerts similar effects to antidepressants on a battery of tasks measuring emotional attention, interpretation and memory in healthy adults.

I completed my undergraduate degree last year in Experimental Psychology at St Anne’s College, Oxford
