Matthew Taylor
Consultant Psychiatrist
Biographical note
I studied medicine at Cambridge and Oxford before training in psychiatry in the Oxford region. My academic training was supported by a Wellcome Trust Research Training Fellowship and a NIHR Clinical Lectureship.
While a Clinical Senior Lecturer at IOPPN, I worked as a consultant psychiatrist for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and served as Associate Clinical Director for the Early Intervention pathway. I now work as a consultant for the Adult Mental Health Team in West Oxfordshire.
My research interests have included using advanced meta-analysis of clinical trial data to clarify treatment mechanisms, and also understanding vulnerability and resilience mechanisms, and potential diagnostic markers, through techniques such as Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy.
