Comparing CACNA1C transcripts across tissues

My PhD research combines molecular biology and bioinformatics to investigate how genes linked to psychiatric diseases are regulated in the brain and cardiovascular system.

Studying how mRNA isoform expression differs across tissues can help guide development  of psychiatric drugs that avoid cardiovascular side-effects. Most of my work is done using mouse samples, so that I can validate (or invalidate!) the use of mouse models that have historically been used in this field of research.
