We have an exciting opportunity for young people who are passionate about mental health to be involved in shaping a new study called the Global Mental Health Databank Project. This will put a Young People's Advisory Group at the centre of an innovative project, conducted in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, to help a group of researchers design and implement an online platform where psychological treatments are more available to young people.

Adolescence is an important period of development, as young people gain independence, navigate stressful situations and make important decisions. The incidence of depression peaks during adolescence, coinciding with the development of social cognition and executive function, key functions of the brain associated with decision-making. Depression can impair the development of these functions, putting depressed adolescents at a life-long disadvantage.
