I am a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the Translational Neurostimulation Laboratory, led by Professor Jacinta O'Shea.
My research focuses on the development and application of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, particularly as potential treatments for depression. I am interested in understanding the neural mechanisms underlying these interventions and in developing approaches to improve their therapeutic efficacy. This work includes the development and evaluation of novel transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) protocols using prototype stimulation devices.
I am also involved in a project investigating the neural correlates of prism adaptation. Using magnetoencephalography (MEG), we aim to better understand how the brain adapts to altered sensory input and the neural processes that support learning and behavioural adjustment.
I completed my PhD at the University of Plymouth in collaboration with DDRC Healthcare, under the supervision of Professor Stephen D. Hall. My doctoral research examined the effects of oxygen manipulation and changes in atmospheric pressure on brain function. Using a multimodal approach that combined TMS, MRI, EEG, and cognitive assessments with controlled oxygen and CO2 manipulation and exposure to a hyperbaric chamber, I investigated how environmental and physiological factors influence neural activity and cognition.
