We develop neuroimaging analysis methods that support the translation of brain imaging into clinical practice. We focus on robust, interpretable tools that enable meaningful use of neuroimaging data for understanding, diagnosis, and monitoring of brain disorders.
The Neuroimaging Analysis for Clinical Translation (N-ACT, pronounced “enact”) research group focuses on developing and validating neuroimaging analysis methods intended to support clinical research and translation into clinical practice. The group designs image-analysis tools and workflows that prioritise robustness, interpretability, and reproducibility, with particular emphasis on MRI and related modalities.
N-ACT is part of the NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre (OH-BRC), contributing to research in dementia and brain technologies. A central theme of the group’s work is the adaptation of neuroimaging methods developed in large-scale research studies, such as UK Biobank, for use in real-world clinical pathways, including memory-clinic settings. Current projects include integrating MRI research into routine memory-clinic assessments via the Oxford Brain Health Clinic, as well as harmonising imaging measures across sites to ensure more comparable and clinically meaningful imaging data.
