Combined blood pressure medication and activity scheduling for low mood study
A 7-day course of Losartan (a licensed and safe medicine) or placebo, and psychological training focused on activity scheduling. Participants will also visit the Department of Psychiatry twice to complete questionnaires and computer tasks.
We are looking for volunteers aged 18–65 who are experiencing low mood or reduced motivation to take part in a study testing a 7-day course of Losartan (a licensed and safe medicine) or placebo, and psychological training focused on activity scheduling.
What’s involved?
- An eligibility phone call with the study researcher
- An initial visit to the Department of Psychiatry
- An online psychological training session + a week of activity homework (to work around your schedule)
- A 7-day course of Losartan or placebo
- A follow-up visit to the Department of Psychiatry
Reimbursement
Participants who complete the study will receive £140, plus reasonable travel expenses for visits.
Who can take part?
We are looking for participants who are not currently taking antidepressants. Full inclusion and exclusion criteria are in the attached Participant Information Sheet.
