Emma Fry
Research Assistant Flourishing Nature Connections
I am a Research Assistant in Flourishing Nature Connections where my work is focused on researching nature-based interventions to benefit human and non-human flourishing. Prior to this role, I worked as an NHS research assistant on a randomised controlled trial looking at the effectiveness of groups arts therapy compared to group counselling. I have a background working in mental health services with Mind and in the NHS, including crisis services, acute inpatient wards and community mental health. I am particularly interested in health and wellbeing research investigating nature and arts based interventions as well as research on aesthetic experiences.
I studied BSc Psychology at the University of Birmingham, and recently completed my MSc in Psychology of the Arts, Neuroaesthetics and Creativity at Goldsmiths. Here, my research focused on how curiosity and information-seeking influences the aesthetic appreciation of paintings.
