Lena Beckers

Research Assistant

I am a research assistant at the Psychopharmacology and Emotion Research Lab (Prof Catherine Harmer). I am currently working on the 7T FACES project, which is a psychopharmacological 7T fMRI study looking into the effects of citalopram on amygdala subnuclei during the processing of faces. I joined the PERL lab as I am interested in further uncovering the neuropsychological underpinnings of depression and antidepressant treatments, particularly through the use of neuroimaging methods, and I am highly passionate about reducing patient suffering.

Prior to joining the PERL lab, I completed an undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Cognitive Neuroscience at Tilburg University and a research master's in Neuropsychology at Maastricht University.
