Dr Alexander Conway

MBBS (AICSM), BSc (Hons) Medical Sciences with Neurosciences and Mental Health

Clinical Research Fellow in Psychoimmunology

Role Description

I am a Clinical Research Fellow with the Early Intervention Mission and Oxford Autoimmune Psychosis Group. In my role I support the Mental Health TRC Mission, which is recruiting participants with first episode psychosis on a cohort level, as well as with PPIP2 and SINAPPS2 studies, which aim to investigate the role of anti-neuronal membrane antibodies as a cause of these psychoses and whether immunotherapy may be a potential treatment. I also coordinate the monthly Oxford Antibody Multidisciplinary Team Meeting, which reviews referrals of complex patients at the intersection of Psychoimmunology and Neuroimmunology.

In terms of my clinical duties, I am also working within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, as part of the Oxford Early Intervention in Psychosis (OEIP) team and Neuropsychiatry Liaison Service. There, I aid in the triage, assessment, and diagnosis of patients experiencing psychosis for the first time and psychiatric patients with neurological and neuropsychiatric presentations.
