Postdoctoral Researcher

Coercion in psychiatry and Inequalities

I have worked on mental health services and policy research seeking to reduce coercive psychiatric practices and address mental health inequalities since 2020. My work spans mixed-methods health services research, multi-country legislative analysis, and mental health systems across Africa and Europe.

I am currently working with Professor Kam Bhui and Dr. Roisin Mooney as a postdoctoral researcher on the NIHR funded POSIE project.  POSIE aims to co-design culturally safe care pathways for postpartum severe mental illness in ethnically diverse mothers across England (Manchester, Sheffield, London, Oxford) and includes photovoice workshops and analysis of healthcare records to characterise postpartum SMI outcomes.
