Interpretability in deep neural networks for gene transcription prediction in Alzheimer's disease

I am a member of the AI team in the Computational & Molecular Neuroscience laboratory. My main interests are the usage and interpretability of AI to better understand the neurobiology and genetics of psychiatric diseases.

In my DPhil project, I am investigating how we can use interpretability methodologies to improve our understanding of deep neural networks (DNN) for gene expression predictions. Further, I want to look into how it could help us to understand the impact of external factors on the DNA translation.
