MSc(R) Student

Sarah Hawkes

I am an MSc(R) student with a focus on functional/dissociative seizures (FDS). My research focuses on current psychological interventions for FDS, with an emphasis on MBCT. I incorporate both quantitative and qualitative research to fully understand the patient experience and explore the nature of FDS. I work with the FND Society, the Epilepsy Foundation, and Oxford Epilepsy Research Group. I aim to bridge the research gap of patients with dual diagnoses of functional seizures and epilepsy.

My previous education includes an L.L.M. in Peace Operations, humanitarian law, and conflict from the National University of Ireland, and a BA in Russian and Linguistics from Brigham Young University.
