Daniel Freeman and the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) research group presents as part of the seminar series for Trinity term 2023.
After a dozen years the Oxford Cognitive Approaches to Psychosis (O-CAP) research group is moving from the Department of Psychiatry to the Department of Experimental Psychology. The team investigate why people experience psychosis and use that knowledge to develop truly effective treatments. Notable achievements include the development of the most effective psychological therapy for persecutory delusions, the Feeling Safe programme, and the pioneering of automated psychological treatment delivered in virtual reality (VR). Members of the team will present several illustrations of the progress made in understanding and treating psychosis. They will also reflect on the many pleasures of working in the department.
