Ryan Leung

Postdoctoral Researcher

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Computational and Molecular Neuroscience group. I am interested in utilising iPSC models to better our understanding of APOE-related biology in the context of Alzheimer's Disease. My research project is aim towards establishing a wholistic, multiomic cellular profile for the astrocytes in disease and protective APOE variants backgroud, and to use this as a tool for screening compounds that may shift astrocytes from disease to healthy or protective states.

I obtained my PhD at the University of Melbourne Australia, with a project that focused on embryonic neural development and cell fate commitments, where I developed a strong interest in transcriptional regulations and epigenetics,
