COMPASS - Communicating about parental mental illness: a resource for health and social care professionals to support family-centred conversations
Take part in an online workshop on June 24th 2026 at 1pm
We are creating a resource to help professionals support parents in talking to their children about mental health problems in the family.
We are carrying out this project because previous work has shown that parents would like support from their health and social care teams about how to talk to children about parental mental illness.
We are looking for volunteers (currently aged 18 years or over) to share their childhood experiences of having a parent with a mental illness e.g. depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder. You are invited to participate in one online workshop on June 24th at 1pm with 5 other adults who have had similar childhood experiences. The session would take up to 3 hours of your time (including breaks). You would be asked for your views about what children want and need to know about parental mental illness and how best information can be communicated to them.
We are looking for
Adults (18 years and over) with lived childhood experience of parental mental illness
Expenses
You will receive up to £75 for your time
