Cognitive-behavioural therapy for children and adolescents
O'Connor TG., Creswell C.
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is now seen as a leading evidence-based treatment for a range of psychological disorders in children and adolescents. In this chapter we review the basic premises of the model, highlight some key model programmes, and consider the current state of the research for certain disorders. We conclude that the evidence supporting the use of CBT for psychological disorders in children and adolescents is quite strong, and that there are prospects for applying CBT interventions in large-scale preventions. © 2005 Elsevier Ltd.
