A new Departmental Seminar Series has been launched as a partnership between the World Psychiatric Association Collaborating Centres and the CHiMES Collaborative, led by Kam Bhui. Roisin Mooney, Postdoctoral Researcher and Project Manager for CHiMES group, said: “We are really excited to introduce this new seminar series to the Department to highlight innovative research exploring different forms of inequality in partnership with World Psychiatry Association (WPA). This builds on the work of the CHiMES research group as one of the ten collaborating centres of the WPA. We decided to set up this seminar series to foster collaboration and provide a platform to share current and emerging insights from interdisciplinary colleagues working on various forms of inequality globally. Our first seminar focused on War and Psychiatry, sharing insights around the inequalities experienced by Gurkha Veterans and Army Reserves. We’re looking forward to seeing people at the seminars to share knowledge, enable future collaboration and advance research in this area.” If you would like to join our seminar mailing list please email: chimes@psych.ox.ac.uk
