Jacinta O'Shea has been awarded the title of Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience in the latest Recognition of Distinction round.
Professor O'Shea is a Wellcome/Royal Society Sir Henry Dale Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity, and leads the Translational NeuroStimulation Laboratory at the Department of Psychiatry. Her research interests include cognition, action and neurobehavioural plasticity - the ability of the brain to adapt and change. She uses neural interference methods, neuroimaging, and cognitive and behavioural techniques to look at how information processing is organised in the brain. She seeks to use these insights to advance treatments for individuals affected by psychiatric or neurological conditions. Professor O'Shea said:

It’s an ongoing privilege to be part of this academic community at Oxford, collaborating with outstanding colleagues, and having the opportunity to discover exciting new insights into how the brain works."

Christian Grimm - Professor of Organelle Biology and Pharmacology, Department of Pharmacology
Laurence Hunt - Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience, Department of Experimental Psychology.
Simon Rinaldi - Professor of Neurology, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences.
