The Clarivate Highly Cited list identifies and celebrates researchers who have demonstrated a "significant and broad influence" in science or medicine-related disciplines.

The researchers selected have authored multiple highly cited papers which rank in the top one per cent in their fields over the past eleven years according to the Web of Science. The list is then refined by Clarivate using qualitative analysis and expert judgement for evidence of community-wide recognition.

There were 59 researchers from the University of Oxford who were on the list, four of which were from the Department of Psychiatry. They are:

  • John Geddes, Professor of Psychiatry
  • Paul Harrison, Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Head of the Department of Psychiatry for Research
  • Willem Kuyken, Ritblat Professor of Mindfulness and Psychological Science
  • Philip McGuire, Professor of Psychiatry

The incoming W.A. Handley Professor of Psychiatry, Armin Raznahan, also featured on the list.

In the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neuroscience, those listed were: Masud Husain, Jesper Andersson, Karla Miller, Jacqueline Palace, Stephen Smith and Patrick Waters. In Experimental Psychology Daniel Freeman made the list.
