Gambling disorder affects 0.4-2% of the population but has traditionally been largely overlooked in NHS settings. Times are changing: gambling disorder is now a national priority in the NHS long term plan, and around 15 regional treatment services have opened or are about to open. This session will cover the presentation of gambling disorder (symptoms, comorbidities, consequences), useful screening and assessment tools, and evidence-based treatment approaches . It will also highlight new NHS treatment services (e.g. how to refer), and will touch on the wider political and legislative contexts.
