Old age psychiatry research in Oxford is supported by a world-class imaging infrastructure, providing 1.5, 3 (2x) and 7 Tesla research-dedicated scanners, PET-CT, as well as magneto-encephalography. Linkup to epidemiological data sets (Whitehall II; OPTIMA), to strong psycho- and neurophysiological teams, to the Oxford Clinical Trials Unit for Mental Illness, and to the Clinical Neurosciences Groups of the Oxford BRC, offers opportunities for interdisciplinary initiatives and training. A research programme embedded in the Oxford BRC has recently acknowledged our innovative interdisciplinary approach.
