Internship:  Emerging Minds Intern £11.81 per hour  – Closing date 9am 4 July 2022

We would like to appoint a full time Emerging Minds Intern (37.5 hour week) to work in an internship role for 3 months (September – November 2022) as part of the Emerging Minds team within the growing TOPIC group (The Oxford Psychological Interventions in Childhood and adolescence Group), led by Professor Cathy Creswell.

The Emerging Minds Network is a mental health research network funded by UK Research and Innovation.  Our vision is to see the number of children and young people who experience mental health problems halved within 20 years. We are fostering research collaborations, across sectors and disciplines, focusing on mental health promotion, prevention and early treatment for children and young people.

We have been focused on addressing 4 research challenges and we are seeking an intern to support with our Emerging Minds network conference, planned for 17 October 2022 and to compile the research findings and progress made by the network.

You should have an interest in children and young people’s mental health research and an undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience).  We particularly welcome applications from candidates with lived experience of mental health difficulties and from backgrounds under-represented in mental health research.

We can offer the opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers and other professionals in a world class university setting.  You will have the chance to develop your research and communication skills and deepen your knowledge of children & young people’s mental health.  You will also have a chance to work closely with and make connections with experts in other sectors.

Application is by CV and covering letter – please sent this to Emily Lloyd emergingminds@psych.ox.ac.uk  by 9am on Monday 4 th of July 2022. Interviews for this role will on Thursday 14th of July 2022

Application Process

All applications for our vacancies are made on line through the University of Oxford jobs website and only in very exceptional circumstances can we receive applications via other means.  If you have a disability or other compelling reason that prevents you submitting an application on line please email our recruitment team at vacancies@psych.ox.ac.uk for advice.

Due to the additional work it creates and in fairness to other applicants, we are unable to accept late applications, so please make sure you are aware of the application deadline and submit yours in plenty of time.  All posts close promptly at noon on the closing date (and remember to allow for technical hitches, which seem to occur at the most inconvenient moment!)

Please follow the link in the posted advert to see further particulars and to apply.   As part of your application, you will be required to upload the documents below:

1. A Curriculum Vitae, (for most posts, but not required for posts at grades 1-5 as a fuller on-line application form is completed)

2. A letter of application/supporting statement.

Should you experience any difficulties using the online application system, please email recruitment.support@admin.ox.ac.uk  who will be able to advise you on how to proceed with your online application.   Alternatively  you can follow the 'Help' link on the left-hand side of the page at any time.   Please note this will open in a separate window.

To return to the online application at any stage, please click on the recruitment page

Please be aware that for some positions we receive a high volume of applications and, although we do try to give feedback to unsuccessful candidates when requested, we are not always able to give individual feedback to applicants who are not shortlisted for interview.  We shortlist candidates based on the selection criteria that you will find towards the end of the job description
