MEG and EEG Source Reconstruction
About
Ryan is a second year EPSRC and MRC ONBI funded PhD student working in Mark Woolrich's analysis group at the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity (OHBA), using machine learning and probabilistic models to analyse time-series neuroimaging data, with a particular focus on EEG and MEG data. He is co-supervised by Steve Smith.
Research Focus
Ryan currently focusses on modelling M/EEG time-series with machine learning algorithms. He applies his models to decoding and source reconstruction.
Bio
Ryan studied Physics at The University of Nottingham for his undergraduate and master's degrees, where he did research projects on MEG and EEG in virtual reality at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre. As an undergraduate, he also carried out summer research placements, including a stint at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute for Child Health where he investigated paediatric focal epilepsy.
Ryan carried out a short project with Steve Smith on time-varying decoding (MVPA) with MEG data before beginning his research into source reconstruction.
