Lena Beckers

Visiting MRes student

I am a visiting MRes student from Maastricht University and am currently assisting Dr Marieke Martens at the Psychopharmacology and Emotion Research Lab with a 7T MRI study on the effects of citalopram on amygdala subnuclei during emotional face processing. I joined the PERL lab as I am interested in uncovering the neuropsychological underpinnings of depression, particularly through the use of neuroimaging methods, and I am highly passionate about reducing patient suffering.

Prior to joining the PERL lab, I completed my undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Cognitive Neuroscience at Tilburg University and worked in various research-oriented roles over the years. Currently, I am a research master student in Neuropsychology at Maastricht University.
