Professor Nobre is appointed the first Statutory Chair in Translational Cognitive Neuroscience at Oxford

Professor Kia Nobre has been appointed to the newly established Statutory Chair in Translational Cognitive Neuroscience at Oxford. The Professorship is held jointly between the Departments of Experimental Psychology and Psychiatry, and is affiliated with St Catherine’s College. Kia will champion cognitive neuroscience research across Oxford, helping to integrate basic research on neural mechanisms with clinical and other applied research to promote cognitive health. She will continue to lead her research aimed at discovering principle of organisation of attention in the human brain with her thriving research group - the Brain & Cognition Laboratory. She will also continue to direct the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity, which is being transformed into a multi-modal imaging facility for translational cognitive neuroscience to include 3T MRI as well as magnetoencephalography (MEG) and related methods. Oxford is thrilled to have such a world leading cognitive neuroscientist steering these major important initiatives and helping the University achieve and translate its enormous potential in cognitive neuroscience into concrete benefits for society.
