Abhaya Adlakha
Researcher
Abhaya works at Dementias Platform UK (DPUK) in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford, focusing on the design, management, and analysis of complex longitudinal datasets in behavioural science, cognition, and mental health research. Their work centres on building reproducible data workflows and conducting advanced statistical analyses using R and Stata.
Since joining the BrainWaves adolescent cohort study in September 2025, Abhaya has provided scientific leadership across cohort development, data management, and statistical analysis. They oversee the full data lifecycle across multiple waves of data collection, transforming raw data into research-ready datasets through harmonisation, variable derivation, and rigorous documentation. Their work includes developing data dictionaries and metadata standards, producing scientific reports, and conducting advanced statistical analyses to support high-quality interdisciplinary research into brain health.
Abhaya holds an MSc in Brain Sciences from the University of Glasgow and has an academic background in Psychology and Architecture. They have a strong interest in statistical programming and reproducible research, with experience in MATLAB and Python and advanced expertise in R and Stata.
