Activities/ Interests
Farshad is a consultant psychiatrist, expert witness (Medico-Legal), experienced educator, and cited researcher. He served as the Medical Director and a consultant psychiatrist at Priory Healthcare until January 2025. Additionally, he is the director of the Oxford Centre of Medical Education (OxCME), where he oversees nationally accredited, specialist, and innovative courses.
Previously, Farshad was the Chair of the Mental Health Law Steering Group at St Andrews Healthcare and a member of the CASC Panel at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Teaching in Higher Education (PGDip-LATHE) from the University of Oxford and a Postgraduate Qualification in Mental Health Law from De Montfort University.
As a researcher, Farshad and his colleagues introduced the concept of “contextually-apt feedback,” also known as The CoRPuS Grid, to the medical education literature.
In his leadership role, Farshad successfully guided his team at Priory Hospital Newbury to achieve an 'Outstanding' rating from the CQC in 2023, placing the hospital among the top 8% of hospitals in England.
In recognition of his lifetime achievements and contributions to the field, Farshad was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in October 2024.
