Activities/ Interests

Farshad is a consultant psychiatrist, expert witness (Medico-Legal), experienced educationist and published researcher. He holds a position as Medical Director and a consultant psychiatrist with Priory Healthcare. He is also the director of the Oxford Centre of Medical Education (OxCME), delivering a nationally accredited AC Refresher Course. Farshad is the former Chair of the Mental Health Law Steering Group at St Andrews Healthcare and former member of the CASC Panel at the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Farshad has done his postgraduate qualification in leadership and teaching in Higher Education (PGDip-LATHE) with the University of Oxford and holds a postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Law with De Montfort University. As a researcher, Farshad and his colleagues created and added the “contextually-apt feedback” concept (also known as The CoRPuS Grid) to the current medical education literature. As a leader and manager, Farshad has led his team at Priory Hospital Newbury in achieving an 'Outstanding' rating from the CQC and joining an elite club of the 8% of top hospitals in England in 2023.
