We welcome Andrea Enriquez, a visiting summer student from the States

Andrea enriquez

Andrea is a third year undergraduate student from the University of Texas at El Paso completing a degree in Biology. She was awarded the LSAMP fellowship for the summer of 2018, which allowed her to travel abroad and experience research at the University of Oxford. She is conducting research in the PERL group under the mentoring of Professor Catherine Harmer, Dr Susannah Murphy and Lucy Wright.

The project she will be involved in focuses on prucalopride, a 5-HT4 agonist, currently used to treat chronic constipation. This study is interested in investigating the effects that it has on emotional processing and to determine  if it could be used as an antidepressant.
