I am a general adult psychiatrist with an enthusiasm for medical education. For two years I have been an Honorary Teaching Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and my role is providing tutorials and development for the Oxford Postgraduate Psychiatry Course (OPPC).
After medical school at Cambridge and UCL I completed foundation and core psychiatry training in Oxford. During this time I completed a PGCert in medical education with Bristol University and I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). I have tutored for the Department of Psychiatry for six years.
In 2015 I was elected an Oxford University Medical Education Fellow (OUMEF) which gives me the opportunity to meet and think with doctors from other specialties who enjoy teaching. I am particularly interested in role models in medicine and communication skills.
In terms of research, I am Co-Investigator for the Oxford site of the NIHR-funded trial "Research into Antipsychotic Discontinuation And Reduction (RADAR)". Previously I have published a systematic review on the role of melatonin in mood disorders.
