Computational neuropsychiatry of facial emotion recognition

I am an academic medical doctor with an interest in complex systems modelling, particularly immunology and neuropsychiatry. I completed my intercalated MB/PhD at the University of Cambridge, specialising in Computational Pathology with a focus on pre-clinical study design. My research explored the immunological responses induced by various vaccines and the impact of antibiotics on bacterial spread within different organs.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in interdisciplinary research, clinical trials, and biostatistics, with a strong emphasis on optimising resource use in experimental designs. While working as a physician, I am also a doctoral student at the Department of Psychiatry working under the supervision of Dr Pulcu and Prof Harmer to dissect the contribution of different neurotransmitters in identifying emotional cues from human faces using experimental and computational approaches.
