The Clarivate Highly Cited list identifies and celebrates researchers who have demonstrated a "significant and broad influence" in science or medicine-related disciplines.
The researchers selected have authored multiple highly cited papers which rank in the top one per cent in their fields over the past ten years according to the Web of Science. The list is then refined by Clarivate using qualitative analysis and expert judgement for evidence of community-wide recognition.
There were 61 researchers from the University of Oxford who were on the list, seven of which were from the Department of Psychiatry. They are:
- Andrea Cipriani, Professor of Psychiatry
- Seena Fazel, Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Centre for Suicide Research
- John Geddes, WA Handley Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre
- Paul Harrison, Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Head of the Department of Psychiatry for Research
- Willem Kuyken, Ritblat Professor of Mindfulness and Psychological Science
- Rob McCutcheon, Associate Professor
- Philip McGuire, Professor of Psychiatry
In the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neuroscience, those listed were: Jesper Andersson, Gwenaelle Douaud, Saad Jbabdi, Karla Miller, Jacqueline Palace and Patrick Waters.
In Experimental Psychology Daniel Freeman made the list and in the Department of Physiology Anatomy and Genetics, Molly Stevens was recognised.
